Privacy Policy

SpearPoint Ink is a trade name of Bigger Pie Strategies LLC, a Maryland limited liability company ("SpearPoint Ink," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through spearpointink.com (the "Site") and our services, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

If you have questions about anything here, contact us using the details at the end.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly. When you submit a form, request a guide, take one of our assessments, book a session, subscribe to our email list, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, business or organization name, role, website, and whatever else you choose to include in a message or assessment response.

Booking and session information. When you schedule a call or a paid session, we collect the details needed to run it — date and time, time zone, the questions you answer when booking, and any notes you provide.

Client engagement material. If you engage us for professional work, we receive the material you share for that purpose: interview recordings and transcripts, notes, outlines, drafts, presentations, and background documents. This material is handled under your Letter of Agreement and the confidentiality terms in our Terms of Service.

Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction details. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers on our systems.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our Site automatically receives technical information when you visit — IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working properly, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and measure the performance of our marketing.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Some parts of the Site may not function correctly if you block them. Where your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide and deliver the services you request, including assessments, guides, scheduled sessions, and professional engagements
  • Communicate with you — responding to inquiries, confirming and reminding you about appointments, and providing updates on active work
  • Send marketing communications, where you have opted in, about our services, articles, and offers
  • Process payments and maintain business and accounting records
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site and our services
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

Email and text messages

If you opt in to receive email or text messages from us, you can opt out at any time. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. For text messages, reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Consent to receive text messages from us is not shared with anyone else.

You may still receive non-marketing messages related to an active engagement or a booked appointment after opting out of marketing.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only in these circumstances:

Service providers. We use vendors to operate our business — website and CRM hosting, email and text message delivery, scheduling, payment processing, file storage, transcription, and analytics. They may access personal information only to perform services for us and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.

Contractors. We may engage editors, proofreaders, designers, and transcriptionists to work on an engagement. They are bound by confidentiality obligations as described in our Terms of Service.

Legal reasons. We may disclose information where we reasonably believe it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of others.

Business transfer. If our business is merged, acquired, or its assets sold, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take reasonable steps to see that it remains subject to protections consistent with this policy.

Artificial intelligence and your material

We use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, in the course of our work — for example, transcription, organizing source material, and drafting support as described in Section 8 of our Terms of Service.

We do not submit your confidential material, recordings, or drafts to any tool that uses submitted content to train its models.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — to provide services, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

Client engagement material is retained for the duration of the engagement and for a reasonable period afterward, unless you ask us to delete it sooner and we are not required to keep it.

Your choices and rights

Regardless of where you live, you may ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete personal information, subject to records we are required or permitted to keep
  • Receive a copy of information you provided to us in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing email or text messages at any time

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Some privacy laws — including the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act and the California Consumer Privacy Act — apply only to businesses above certain size thresholds, and we may fall below them. We extend the rights described above as a matter of policy regardless of whether a particular law obligates us to.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately.

Children's privacy

Our Site and services are intended for business professionals and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our Site may link to third-party websites and resources. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Information handled outside your country

We operate in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or elsewhere. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be handled in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your location.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
